It's Apple Season!
Maybe it's just because of where we live, but our hearts beat a little happier when Fall comes around. One of our favorite Fall activities is apple picking, and the time is finally here!
Between wandering the orchards in search of the perfect apples, and checking out all that the orchard has to offer (think baked goods, mums, pumpkins, Fall decor...), it's a full-day adventure! Visiting your local apple orchard is the perfect way to get fresh fruit for snacking and baking, and it's also a great way to help support local businesses!
If you're with us, and you love a day at the apple orchard, check out your local orchards to see how they're running things this year! We did the legwork for you here in the Berkshires, and these are some of our favorite local orchards.
- Bartlett's Apple Orchard - Pick Your Own apples is open every day, 10-5, following all state guidelines! They're offering both in-store shopping and curbside pickup (no in-store shopping on weekends).
- Lakeview Orchards - The orchard is open Thursday-Monday 9-5, with face coverings and social distancing required.
- Jaeschke's Orchard - Open normal business hours 7 days per week!
After you visit your local orchard and you've got more apples than you know what to do with, check out some of our past apple recipes! We've got recipes for Spicy Apple Chutney, Spicy Apple Cinnamon Infusion, and Kale & Apple Salad.
