Embracing the Warmer Weather

Embracing the Warmer Weather

Here in New England, the weather is heating up quickly, and we're HERE for it! With all that's been happening in the world in recent months, we're excited to get some fresh air in our lungs and some sunshine on our skin.

Most of us have more time on our hands now than we've had in a long time. Luckily, the outdoors has endless activities that we can still do while remaining safe and close to home.

We talked earlier this month about planting a vegetable garden, and now that it's had a bit of time to settle in, heading out and plucking out the weeds, spraying down the soil and any little sprouts, and checking in on the progress of your garden is a good daily routine to keep you busy and keep your garden in tip-top shape.

A theme of 2020 (at least for us) has been getting our health and fitness in check. With so much extra time and the sunshine calling our name, getting outside for a walk around the neighborhood or a bike ride through town has never felt easier. Plus, it gives us an excuse to see some new scenery and break up the day a bit. If you've got a pup, we're willing to bet they'll be thrilled to see the leash come out and get their little paws moving.

Even the most active of people can't deny the splendor of kicking back in a lounge chair and soaking up the warm sun (just make sure you're wearing sunscreen!). Settle in with a book you've been meaning to read, a book of Sudoku puzzles, or a good podcast and enjoy the fresh air.

Don't forget to stay hydrated! Need some drink inspiration? Check out our drink recipe archives for some beverage ideas, both family-friendly and adult style! And when it's time to fire up the grill for some outdoor cooking, we've got lots of recipe ideas to keep your menu feeling fresh and unique.
